Our Story

Born in Berlin

Du Loua is a sustainable children's shoe label that was founded in Berlin and has since moved to Haarlem. Since 2018, children and nature have been at the forefront of our designs. We create minimalistic, timeless and comfortable collections that make both children and parents happy. No glitter, hearts or other prints, but minimalistic unisex essentials that easily fit under any outfit.

Handmade in Portugal

All our shoes are handmade in beautiful Portugal, working closely with a small family business that shares our high standards of social and environmental values. We strive to minimize our impact on the environment. We only use carefully selected premium leathers that do not contain chrome or other toxic substances. For the soles we use natural crepe soles or recycled soles.

The face behind ...

Du Loua was founded and designed by Laura Stroomer, a Dutch mother of two who moved to Berlin for work in 2015 and fell in love with the city.

It all started when her children started walking and needed their first pair of shoes. She was unable to find that perfect pair of stylish shoes that also met her ethical values ​​and respected the planet. With the extensive experience and knowledge of footwear in house, it was only a small step to creating her own label.

A collection that met her own high standards in design, craftsmanship and comfort. Something that fits easily into any wardrobe. The perfect pair of shoes of high quality that last multiple life cycles.
