Maintenance advice
Leather/Suede
All our leather is carefully selected for its durability. If you take good care of your shoes, they are guaranteed to last a long time.
You can protect your leather or suede shoes from water or dirt by spraying them with a special leather spray, which contains natural protection and/or water-repellent agents. There are various organic sprays on the market that we recommend. Make sure the shoes are free of dirt before spraying them.
If the shoes need cleaning, you can remove any kind of dirt from the shoes with a neutral colored damp cloth. When you are done, it is very important that you give them enough time to dry completely. Do not put them on the radiator or in the sun, as this will dry out the leather. Afterwards, you can treat the leather with a shoe polish. For suede, we also recommend brushing gently after drying to remove stains.
Crepe soles
Crepe is a natural material that reacts to both heat and cold. Therefore, do not leave shoes with crepe soles in direct sunlight on a summer day - the sole can melt in extreme heat and become deformed.
A crepe sole can harden and crystallise over time. This can be remedied by placing the shoe under supervision on a medium heat radiator for approximately 30-60 minutes or until they are soft and flexible again.
If the crepe rubber sole becomes very sticky, it can be repaired by a shoemaker. The shoemaker can remove a thin layer of the crepe rubber sole and then apply talcum powder.
